In order to protect the identity and safety of the man featured in this story I have blurred his face. However, I felt it was still important to tell his story, and the story of those he helps.
In remote parts of the Burmese jungle, people are dying from easily treated conditions like diarrhea because of a lack of medical care. Burma is a complicated land. Having been under military rule since 1962, civil war has been constant and oppression and human rights abuses even more frequent - A reality the government does not like to acknowledge. It therefore limits the access of aid workers and often keeps these people from getting the help they so desperately need.
This incredible man, at the risk of his own life, travels in to these remote jungle villages to aid these people, using his experience and abilities to quite literally save these people lives.
This man is an inspiration.
